Jonathon should have gone to Keith like a man, not a drunken boy, and asked him what was said before going any further. Anyone who has been there knows things are said at a bar that can be taken the wrong way. I.E. "Why are you on that crappy boat when you could be on a great one?" How does anyone know what was said or how it was meant. 4  out of 7 found this valuable. Do you?

I thought Keith showed far better self-control than Johnathan did. I love all the Catch captains but am aware that these guys all have huge egos. You would have to have an overabundance of confidence to take on that kind of job and responsibility. Not surprising that it boils over on occasion. Though I understand what set Johnathan off, the situation was not handled well. Johnathan was not even party to the "recruitment" discussion. It might make for more exciting tv, but I don't like to see the guys fighting. 2  out of 2 found this valuable. Do you?

I think that if was done the other way around, as in Johnathon trying to poach Monte, Keith would have just as pissed as Johnathon. These are F/V captains, they hold their pride very near and dear to them, and their pride is their F/V's, when you knock a man's pride for no good reason other than making yourself feel better, there are going to be consequences. 1  out of 1 found this valuable. It seems like every year Keith gets worse. It is like almost every show he blows up and has a problem. Last night, with the fight, I was worried that Phil was going to have a problem then instead of when he did! As a nurse, that could have set off a stroke right there!
Keith just has to take a 'chill pill' and get his act together. I hope they do get rid of Keith and bring either some of the old boats back or new ones in. 2  out of 2 found this valuable. Do you?

I couldn't agree with you more and DISAGREE with this whole thread more! Keith is a great captain and doesn't deserve all the disrespect.
To the rest of you people, you don't know the whole story, only what was shown. Personally, I think Jonathan is a childish bully, but in the long run (remember this was filmed months ago) these two men worked it out and are friends. Until you have lived our lives, save your ignorant comments! It is a TV show, some things are meant for shock value, some things are meant to tug at the heart strings. I do not see anyone in here taking this too seriously besides you. Do you find this valuable?

jon only went off on his crew because they were ignoring what captain andy was telling them to do! and he didn't throw anything at them, he threw the hook up against the sorting table. Yes, I agree, sometimes he can be a hot head but his crew certainly respects and is quite faithful to him! you do not try and recruit another boats crew members, especially the captains kid!!! 1  out of 1 found this valuable. Johnathan should have finished what he started with that pud Keith, Johnathan showed major self control to not just wipe the floor with Keith, you do not mess with a man's livelihood, Keith is a snake and a punk, I cannot count all the reasons he would never be a skipper on a boat, his greed, his self centered attitude, his inability to be honest, etc., 1  out of 1 found this valuable. Absolutely not, don't get rid of Keith. He adds spit and vinegar to the show. I think he is just edgy when out on the boat and worries about getting everyone home safe. Unfortunately this makes him yell and over react.
What is wrong with Jonathan? He is usually playful and doesn't let things bother him like that. The playful, laughing, good natured guy we see all the time has finally shown his true colors-just took 6 seasons. That is a lot of patience, I have to admit.
I still love both Keith and Jonathan-but fighting and pushing and threats do not solve anything.
As Sig says "suck it up".

Hi all long time no talk ..missed everyone and am trying to be on more now that the new show is back on. I was wanting to see how everyone reacted to what johnthan did. keith was never my favorite person but I think he mellowed after some of his crew got hurt last season. I did think what Johnthan did was a cheap shot and uncalled for.His deck hand just said that Keith ask him why he stays on the TB so maybe their deck hands dont make as much as some others,didnt say he ask him to come work for him on the Wizard,was just bar conversation.I dont like theTB as much as I did since the incident with Russell,I dont know why he didnt last on the Wizard since he isnt a greenhorn,which they give a hard time. If you know you have a greenhorn why would you expect them to know everything after or half way through their first. I have alot more respect for Keith when I saw how upset he was when his crew members got hurt alot more respect then I have for the TB captains ...think john was a little snockered when he got there...why ya think his brother didnt take it up before john got there,he seemed so outraged too when he was on the boat and heard the news.I guess he needed back up ..oh thats right he let john handle it all. 1  out of 1 found this valuable. now that is funny ..thanks for the laugh cowboy in this so serious conversation...all us women have been saying that we find these guys attractive because they are manly men doing a tough mans job....well the incident is how tough men handle their disputes. Do you find this valuable?

wow I hate to hear that because I think he is hot but still will like to look at him...but I do think that Keith gets a raw deal with some of the fans..it took my watching the show for a couple seasons to get to that opinion,but seeing him more has put him in a different light especially last season. I think the tv show has gave them all big heads and why not before they were just fishermen and now they are tv personalities that thousands watch and know their names and have a big fan base. That is enough to make anyones head swell. Do you find this valuable?

Hey everybody does it especially if a Skip opens his/her mouth(normally in a bar) and brags about the help!! Of course we all want a good deckhand!!! so of course you are gonna talk to said hand and see if you can lure them away!!! a greenie is treated he same way on ANY boat.... 9/10 they are idiots and lazy so like boot camp you break them and build them into what you want! 2  out of 3 found this valuable.
