100 Reasons to Watch Deadliest Catch

I started watching with a patient of mine who used to be a captain of one of these boats. He knew all the captains and most of the crew and he got me hooked. His name was John MacDonald and he was on dialysis and I did his treatments at the hospital here in the desert southwest in California. he told me tales of the crab fishing that would knock your socks off and thats what got me hooked. I held his hand as he died because he had no family and I loved him for being my friend. He was 75 years old so he probably knew most of the current captains fathers.

Reason to watch:To watch great men do a dangerous job. It's the real deal with brave men who do an extremely dangerous job to earn a living to support their families.
When Deadliest Catch isn't on I:catch the marathons & reruns. It's a long 10 months between seasons. It would be nice if the producers could use more of the unused edited material to make another 1/2 season. We want to see more, in the Regular Season. More shows, please!!
What I'm most looking forward to in Season 5: To see if Capt. Phil is back, & see who is new.to the show's filming. The new Capt's. & new boats.

Reason to watch: From the first time I saw the show, I was hooked. The dangerous conditions that these men have to face every day has to be respected. When I now order crab in a restaurant, I think of the dangerous conditions that the crew had to endure so that I can enjoy my meal. The long hours, the backbreaking work, the rough Bearing Sea and the cold temperatures as well as the family and crew interactions make this a great show.
When Deadliest Catch isn't on I: Can indulge myself by watching my favorite episodes over again whenever I want.
What I'm most looking forward to in Season 5: Absolutely everything, the various Captains and their crew when they face the elements makes for time well spent watching television.

Reason to watch: The drama of some of the roughest, toughest guys out there in the setting of the deadly Bearing Sea. A glimpse into an almost alien world populated by alien-looking sea creatures. Great characters under the stress of deadly conditions with yearly income on the line.

What I'm most looking forward to in Season 7: More adventure from the great cast of characters. The hypnotic spell of watching pots launched over the side and the anticipation of seeing them rise over the side wondering how stuffed with crab they are.
