depends on the boat size,an!d how enthusiastic the unloaders are! more inportant is making someone from the boat watches the unloading to make sure all the crab are accounted for, as the boats are paid by weight

Crabby,I think you would make a good unloader,LOL.those poor men it looks to be one demanding job, at one point as the crabs are being unloaded it looks like they have to get in the tank to me if I am wrong will someone please explain to me the procedure of how the unloading takes place,I would not last one second doing none of this, maybe thats why this show is so good,What these men have to endure to make a living just really amazes me,from the time they leave the harbour until they get off with their luggage

Ya Sandi I could see crabby unloading those tanks...Crab in one hand cocktail in the other LoL...I wouldnt want that job either, looks like it's back breaking work...Not sure how the off load works either only what I have seen on the show...With what these guys endure season to season looks to be pretty harsh stuff...Look at how young and cute Jake Anderson from the FV Northwestern was when he was a greenhorn...The poor guy looks as if he has aged 20yrs since he started crabbing....However he's still a cutie in my book.......God Bless

I always have said he was the best greenhorn ever. He had so much determination about him. Jake A has also had a lot of personal tragedies, he lost his sister and then the circumstances of his Dad all of that takes a toil on someone.

It does depend on how much the boat holds but I seem to remember like an 6-8 hour average per tank. Each boat usually has at least 3 tanks so... usually a long night's worth.
