"I'M really sad that mike rowe isn't doing ATC this season. But I know Ben Bailey is a huge DC fan so maybe it's his time to have a turn. But i'm gonna miss Mike."Yeah... I thought that was a real pooper too, when I heard Mike wasn't doing the ATC... but he could return again next year. Also (keeping my fingers crossed) Mike is still doing the narration for DC... at least.. I haven't heard anyting otherwise.. Do you find this valuable? |

Oh say it can't be so....I like Ben Baily but I love Mike Rowe!! He has to stay on for ATC. I thought they were all good buds!

I think Ben did an OK job,he did seem a lil lost though. Do you find this valuable? |

Ben was doing his best, but was not in a natural setting. I can feel your pain though about advance notices. "The fellows were fun as they always are, but Mike is such a natural with those guys, because he has been around them for so long.Me thinks with the number of other "appearances" cropping up all over the place, their time is beginning to become rather limited at how long they stay at any one location anymore. That's probably why we barely find out about certain things like the taping thing here in San Diego... Discovery arranged for them to be all over the place - Sea World, locale surfing and deep sea fishing, Johnathan flying loop-de-loops ... they were at Belmont Park on the roller coaster and rides... wouldn't surprise me if they ended up in Legoland - just 10 miles from my house!! LOL They probably tried to be as "hush hush" about everything as whole so as to get them in and out of every where in a timely manner and get as much "footage" of their visit here San Diego! These other appearances we're hearing about more in advance are basically the individual captains... mainly Phil.. where they will be in one spot for 4 or 5 hours at a time for a fan "meet and greet" session.... but when it comes to taping, they're on a tight and controlled schedule... Do you find this valuable? |

We don't know at this point. I doubt very much it was Discovery's idea to try out someone new... I think there was probably a scheduling conflict on Mike's end..
